The filters on exhaust get clogged up pretty fast, and even faster if You are idling a lot, or running the engine in cold weather.
As You know the regens are boring, they take long time, they burn extra fuel – and most importantly put unnecessary stress on Your turbo.
These systems are far from perfect, and they require extensive maintenance – and pretty much Your vehicle ends up spending more time in the shop then on the road!

DETROIT DIESEL EGR DELETE

The DD engines have suffered from EGR related issues from the moment of introducing these systems. The EGR valve is designed to recirculates exhaust back into intake for another run of combustion. This causes excessive soot build up in intake manifold, VNT turbo vanes get sticky and they don’t move freely as they do when they are clean. All that limits Your air flow – and affects Your performances. With Detroit Diesel EGR delete tuning loaded into Your ECM, You will be able to block off EGR manifold to prevent any gases going into EGR tubing. All EGR sensors will be deleted as well.

DETROIT DIESEL SCR DELETE

DEF & SCR are one of major contributors for down time on DD engines. With Detroit Diesel SCR DEF delete, the DEF dosing will be disabled, and SCR filter will be bypassed. The entire one box can be removed, or You can just hollow out filter material.

There is no reason to ship Your Detroit Diesel ECM any where!

All tuning is done online(remotely), through diagnostic port.

BENEFITS OF DELETE TUNING ON DETROIT DIESEL ENGINES

No more issues with any of emission related components. DPF SCR DOC get bypassed, EGR gets blocked off, and DEF pump stops dosing.

Engine will be burning clean air all the time due to EGR delete, the turbo will no longer be under stress due to constant regens, and even Your oil will last longer (since it won’t have any additional soot).

You will be able to feel more power, and fuel economy will improve (no more regens, cold air).

REQUIREMENTS FOR ONLINE TUNING

1. Windows laptop.
2. Good and stable internet connection.
3. Software DDDL Diagnostic program installed and working for reading codes.
4. Diagnostic adapter. Recommended diagnostic adapter is Nexiq USB Link, but we did use DPA5, Noregon and some other adapters.

BEFORE SENDING TEAMVIEWER ID AND PASSWORD DO THIS

1. Disconnect both NOx, EGR sensors.
3. Put battery charge to truck’s batteries.
4. Plug the laptop to the wall (so it charges, and so the battery doesn’t die during flashing process)
5. Verify that voltage on truck’s batteries is between 12.5V and 13.8V.
